![]() However, the connectivity with my other devices was not quite as seamless. The initial pairing for the Buds 2 Pro was super easy I simply opened the case and the notification popped up on my phone (similar to the AirPods notification pairing). ConnectivityĪs someone who owns a few earbuds, pairing and connectivity is very important for me. Some earbuds can feel uncomfortable with all my piercings, but I didn’t have that worry with the Buds 2 Pro earbuds since I have a rook piercing (which loops on the uppermost ridge of my inner ear) and unlike the AirPods Pro, these earbuds don’t have a stick end that touches my hoops or studs. I didn’t have to constantly push them back in like I do with other earbuds, and they never slipped out during my workouts, runs, or commutes-I’m always concerned my earbuds are going to fall on the subway tracks during my commute (hopefully I’m not jinxing myself here because it hasn’t happened to me yet). The combination of its small shape lets it fit nicely in my ear and it’s light enough (but not too light) for a nice snug fit. That being said, the Buds 2 Pro are the most comfortable earbuds I’ve ever owned. Luckily, many earbuds provide different size ear tips in its packaging. ![]() ![]() On the other hand, if your ear canal is too small, the earbud won’t be able to go in deep enough to fit properly. As SELF has previously reported, if your earbuds fall out, it might be because your ear canal is too big and there’s nothing for the earbuds to sit against. The comfort of earbuds can be very subjective, since everyone’s ears are different and earbuds don’t come in a one-size-fits-all. It didn’t completely deplete my phone battery and your phone will automatically stop charging around 30%. I didn’t use this function as much but I liked having the option to charge the earbuds in different ways. For wireless charging, simply plop it on your Samsung device-just make sure that the Wireless PowerShare feature is turned on. So the battery is pretty solid.Īs for how to charge them? You can charge your Buds 2 Pro two ways, either by wirelessly charging it on a Samsung device or with the USB-C cable that it comes with. I used these for my 30-minute commute and a few Zoom meetings throughout the day, and they lasted about four days before I had to charge them again. Battery LifeĪccording to Samsung, the battery life should last five hours with continuous playback and ANC turned on, but battery life will really depend on use frequency and listening habits. Spatial audio upgrades have been popular recently (it’s available on AirPods and Beats with iOS 16) but overall, this feature was a miss for me. I tested this by listening to music, YouTube videos, and podcasts and moving my head from side to side, but I didn’t really find a noticeable difference. I was really excited to test out this listening experience feature, but it really didn’t impress me. For instance, if your phone is in front of you and you move your head to the right side, your volume will decrease on the right and be more prominent on the left to create a 3D effect. Head tracking adjusts the volume of the sound depending on how you move your head. I own the Bose QuietComfort 45 headphones, and nothing beats the noise canceling that these headphones deliver, but the Buds 2 Pro comes very close. It’s really hard to get great active noise canceling with earbuds compared to over-ear headphones. What really stood out, though, was the ANC, or active noise canceling. ![]() I found the audio to be great because it really enveloped the sound in my ear. Since the buds have a retail price of $230, my expectations for sound quality were pretty high. When you press and hold, you can switch from active noise cancellation to ambient noise. I turned on all the touch control settings, so that with one tap my music pauses, a double tap goes back to the previous track, and three taps skip to the next song. Afterward, go into the touch control settings for play and calls. For instance, the Equalizer adjusts bass, treble, and more. Then you can customize your earbud and audio settings on the Galaxy Wearable app. Still, I would recommend starting with the Earbud fit test to make sure your earbuds are fitting properly. The earbuds themselves are a nice egg shape and fit comfortably in my ear (no ear tip change necessary).
